Learning and Development

GMPA is committed to enabling our people to meet and exceed their potential, in this respect;

  • We are growing a coaching culture within the organisation by developing managers as leaders and putting specific initiatives into place, for example; by providing a management and leadership programme, supporting career development and implementing culture change programmes. We also facilitate action learning sets, which encourage people to meet and share ideas around specific issues
  • We support those who wish to study for further qualifications to enhance their skills or further their careers with us. Each year all staff have the opportunity to apply for funding. GMPA has sponsored a number of employees over the years who have gone on to gain further qualifications
  • We have a mentoring scheme to support career development and help those who wish to perform at a higher level in their current role. GMPA has a mentoring scheme that is open to all staff either as a mentor or mentee. Since its launch in 2006, a number of staff have benefited from the scheme and gained a new perspective on their development needs and career aspirations
